Today, we'd like to introduce the TAMIYA R/C SUBARU WRX STI 24HR NURBURGRING TT-02 KIT, which has been already available on the entry level 4WD TT-02 chassis.
The TT-02 chassis line-up is Tamiya's entry level 4WD platform. It allows new kit builders an easy gateway into the world of on-road running due to its easy construction, balanced performance and high aftermarket Hop-Up Option support.
This model recreates the Subaru WRX STI car which took an impressive victory in the SP3T class of theNürburgring 24 Hours race event at the legendary German circuit in May 2016. The real car is powered by the same engine as in its production model - the EJ20 2-liter horizontally-opposed turbo engine.
The TT-02 chassis incorporates many features to make it easy for the new R/C kit builder to assemble and learn from. The TT-02 chassis performs well, as cornering and overall speed has been enhanced to take advantage of new electronics available on the market. In addition to the TT-02 being an ideal platform to start from, R/C hobbyists can expand its potential by adding many of the Hop-Up Options available to increase the cars speed and performance.
Challenger from Japan who won the harsh endurance race
The Nürburgring, a circuit in Germany known for its harshness, is also used as a development track for sports cars. Subaru has competed in the 24-hour endurance race here since 2008, and has won its class four times. Based on Subaru's high performance WRX STI sports sedan, the WRX STI NBR Challenge was created for this race, where NBR stands for Nürburgring.
This electric radio control car assembly kit recreates the car that won the class championship in 2016. The intricately sculpted front bumper spoiler, bonnet with air vents on both sides of the air intakes, edgy front and rear wings, and diffuser-shaped rear end are all realistically reproduced in polycarbonate for an even more powerful form. The door mirrors and the rear wing with integrated stays are separate plastic parts for a scale effect.
Adopts shaft drive 4WD, TT-02 chassis with excellent maneuverability and fun setting
The TT-02 is a shaft drive 4WD chassis, with the battery on the left and the motor on the right for excellent handling stability, and the same suspension arms and uprights on both sides for easy assembly, and a split gear case for easy maintenance. This model is available in two sizes.
You can also choose between two different wheelbases, two different heights, two different treads and ten different gear ratios with the motor mount. The wheel hubs are designed to look like brake discs, and the front bumper support is designed to look like the bumper of a real racing kart. The gunmetal coloured mesh wheels are fitted with slick tyres.
