Today, we’d like to introduce TAMIYA 1/10 Electric RC Car Series No.242 Wild Willy 2 Off-Road 58242, this electric radio control car assembly kit allows you to easily enjoy action-packed driving, such as wheelies with the front wheels raised and spin turns.
The frame that supports off-road driving is a lightweight and strong monocoque type. It features full-scale mechanism such as four-wheel double wishbone suspension and sealed gear box with built-in differential gears. Equipped with a wheelie support with rollers at the rear to create a stable wheelie ride.
A comical driver doll is also mounted on the ABS reinforced resin body with a high scale feeling. The big tires are pre-installed on the wheels, and the gearbox is completed with the motor installed for ease of construction.
Wild Willy 2 Chassis
The chassis part of Wild Willy 2 is released. The newly designed chassis uses a monocoque frame that holds the gear case in place. A side member is attached to the outside to increase rigidity and convey the atmosphere of the actual vehicle. The gear case is already assembled and can be taken out without disassembling the frame even after completion, so maintenance is easy.
In addition, the battery layout installed vertically on the rear of the vehicle enables dynamic wheelie driving. Servo is set on the chassis center line. Uses equal length 2-split tie rods to create habit-free maneuvering characteristics. The suspension is a four-wheel independent suspension, achieving high running performance.
A large bumper for training is also included!
The Wild Willy 2 kit contains two types of bumpers. The normal bumper is equipped with the above picture and the model posted in the previous issue. And this time, I would like to introduce a large bumper for training.
With a long shape that covers the front of the front tires, it protects the area around the legs such as uprights in the unlikely event of a crash. Powerful enough, you can choose according to your taste.

The design and specifications have changed slightly from the products at that time, but the finish is such that you can fully feel the remnants of those days. How is it? The high running performance that pushes off-road with large tires and the good controllability that is easy to handle even for beginners are the same as before.
